For re-gouging round recesses.
Using the latest forging and hardening technology and a chrome vanadium tool steel that is ideally suited for this application, the gouges are manufactured in accordance with DIN standard 5142. 
We guarantee a Rockwell hardness of 61 HRC within close tolerances over the entire useful length of the gouge. Each gouge is tested for hardness and edge retention. 

The overall length is the usual for gouges, e.g. 248 mm long for size 10 mm and 280 mm for size 26 mm. 
The blades are fine ground. The slightly flattened Ulmer handles are made of matt lacquered hornbeam and are very comfortable to hold.
