With the most modern forging and hardening technology and a chrome-vanadium tool steel excellently suited for this application, the chisels are manufactured according to DIN standard 5139. We guarantee a Rockwell hardness of 61 HRC within narrow tolerances over the entire useful length of the chisel. Each chisel is tested for hardness and cutting edge retention.
The overall length is the usual for chisels, e.g. 245 mm long for size 10 mm and 275 mm for size 26 mm. The blades are finely ground. The slightly flattened Ulmer handles are made of matt lacquered hornbeam and are very comfortable to hold.
